Sony DSC-P150 7.2 Megapixel Digital Camera Sets New Resolution Threshold For Compact Cameras

Sony breaks the resolution barrier with its very first 7.2 Megapixel compact digital camera.

Berlin, July-21 2004 - With the introduction of the DSC-P150 (DSCP150) Sony breaks the resolution barrier with its very first 7.2 Megapixel compact digital camera.

The Sony DSC-P150 digital camera yields an image size of 3072 x 2304 - making it the first pocket size digital camera capable of capturing enough pixels to make 300-dpi 8" x 10" enlargements. The Sony DSC-P150 is equipped with a stunning Carl Zeiss Varrio-Tessar zoom lens and encased in a stylish aluminium body.

Sony DSC-P150 - Shoot To Thrill

How can something so compact be so powerful? Elegant enough for the most fashion-conscious snapper, the tiny Cyber-shot DSC-P150 can capture high resolution, 7.2 effective Megapixel images and features a pop-up 3X optical zoom lens by the world-renowned Carl Zeiss company. With the Cyber-shot DSC-P150 you can forget about battery concerns, as the heightened STAMINA of the Sony DSC-P150 digital camera means that you can shoot up to 320 high quality images on one charge. And the enhancements don't stop there.

Sony DSC-P150 - Superior Operation

The power at the heart of the DSC-P150 is the unique Sony Real Imaging Processor. With this driving the action behind the scenes you can be sure that your colours will turn out richer, your images will be clearer and you’ll achieve better picture quality all round. The DSC-P150 also makes the best use of the battery, boosting performance to an incredible 90 percent greater than previous models.
The Sony Real Imaging Processor significantly speeds up the DSC-P150 camera operation, so you’re much less likely to miss the action. The Real Imaging Processor™ circuitry in the Sony DSC-P150 digital camera ensures fast start-up and shot-to-shot times, and puts extra speed and performance behind automatic features such as auto focus and auto exposure.

Sony DSC-P150 - Efficient Design

At just 1 inch thin, the Sony DSC-P150 digital camera is easy to hold, use, and carry with you in a pocket or a handbag. Although it fits into the palm of your hand, the Sony DSC-P150 digital camera still offers a sizeable 1.8-inch LCD screen, set flush into the aluminium body for efficient use of space. Such attention to detail is mirrored in the internal design of the DSC-P150 camera, which features precision engineering and a highly compact optical path. Sony has provided extra connectivity for the Cyber-shot DSC-P150 with an optional powered cradle, the Cyber-shot station. This allows you to dock the DSC-P150 and connect to a PC, printer or AV device, using a remote control to view your images on TV, while the camera battery charges simultaneously. Of course this being Sony, the DSC-P150 also offers all the onboard connectivity you’ll need for everyday operation, including USB 2.0 and the enhanced PictBridge facility for printing your photos directly to a compatible printer without the need for a PC.

Sony DSC-P150 - Shoot anywhere

Forget about worrying if the light is right; just choose one of nine Scene Selection modes to produce a perfect picture in any setting. The Sony DSC-P150 is fully automatic of course, but if you want to get a bit more creative there’s also a simple manual exposure mode. And it’s not just pictures. The Sony DSC-P150 can also record MPEG movies that can be played back full screen on a TV. Truly a multitalented camera!
